Fillings

Fillings are necessary where the tooth has broken down due to decay or tooth structure has been lost due to accidental damage.

There are two main types of filings; Amalgam (silver) fillings and white fillings.

Silver fillings are usually used in back teeth. White fillings are used to repair front teeth and can sometimes be used in back teeth if there is not too much decay or damage. White fillings come in a range of shades and so can be matched to the colour of your own teeth. We will discuss your preference and advise on the best option for your particular case.

In some cases, it can happen that there is not enough tooth structure to hold a large filling and so, a crown may be the best long-term.option.
